CRM provides ore reserve estimation and
geological modeling services to the mining industry. We are a Chilean corporation headquartered
near Santiago. This location gives us
quick access to our major clients in South America. Our goal is to provide reliable and cost
effective orebody models that allow our clients to maximize the efficiency of
their operations. Our approach is
very much hands on and practical. We
believe that the major source of error in orebody modeling occurs during
geological modeling and interpretation.
Generally if the geological model is correctly captures the geological
controls of the deposit then developing the geostatistical model of the grade
distribution is relatively straightforward.
This is not to say that resource estimation
is a simple process. Errors can enter
the process at every stage. To ensure
that errors are minimized or eliminated detailed checks are performed
throughout the process and the final model is checked and verified in
detail. In fact the model verification
step is typically the most time consuming part of our work and it serves as
the basis for our resource classification approach. Our approach to resource estimation has
been validated over the last 4 years through the successful completion of
numerous projects and audits for Codelco-Chile and BHP Minerals. |
